Epcot is the second theme park at the Walt Disney World in Bay Lake area in Florida. The first one was Magic Kingdom.
The park was opened in 1982 and is spread over an area of around 300 acres. This area is more than the size of magic kingdom. The park is dedicated to human achievements including innovations in technology and culture.
The park is often called the ‘Permanent world’s fair’.
Last year the park hosted around 11 million people in the Walt Disney world. It was named as the third most visited park in the North American region and sixth most visited park of the World. The park is presented in the form of a Spaceship – depicting its nature and alignment towards innovation and technology. It was called EPCOT center until 1994 in which year it was named as Epcot 94 and then Epcot 95 the next year.
Unlike other parks in the Walt Disney world, Epcot sells alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks, beers, wines to tits valued customers.
The park is designed in to two themed areas, including Future world and World showcase.
World showcase is an area that contains around 11 pavilions, each depicting a country. They surround the World Showcase Lagoon, which is a large artificial lake.
The park has World Showcase Adventures, an interactive mobile attraction that uses electronic gadgets for electronic scavenger hunt also called ‘Kimmunicators’.
There is also show Illuminations taking place at the park every night. The show exhibits the Chaos, Peace features of the world in a small show that takes place every night before the closing of the gates of Epcot.
